Let me catch you up

It has been such an eventful past month. I celebrated 6 birthdays (including my own) along with having my family from Florida visit for the holidays and it was all so anticipated to happen yet it flew by so fast. I guess the best way to describe all that I’ve been up to is to actually show you all through my pictures.
So here it goes…

Let’s start with my sisters 15th birthday

It has all been so much fun, but tomorrow it’s time to go back to reality. Since I work at a school, I’ve had a break just like the kids. I’ve thought about them over vacation and I’m excited to see them again. This is more of a “catching up” post since I’ve been so busy with all that’s been going on, but there will more to come dear readers!

Love always,
Dee

Highlight of the day

Every day of this week, my students have to choose and write who or what they are thankful for since we are getting ready for Thanksgiving. One of my students said she was thankful for me and then says, “Well you are my family, ya know” It was followed with a big hug! You should also know that I work with children who come from troubled families and don’t really get the chance to experience what a Thanksgiving dinner is with all of their family under the same roof. Next week, we will all be gathering up in the gym to have a huge Thanksgiving dinner and it is the one time throughout the whole entire school year where the entire school (students and staff) are all together. It’s a big deal to the kids and to the staff because we show the kids how important they are and we get to share this same experience like a huge family. I am so excited for next week’s festivities at work! These children have opened my eyes to so much more in life and how important it is to cherish and value our loved ones.

I am sincerely thankful for them in every way possible.

Do you ever…

Do you ever just admire someone’s presence? As if you’re SO lucky to be there with that person… example: instead of watching tv together,  you watch that person watch tv to see their reactions to what’s on the screen. If it’s something funny, you get the chance to not only hear that person laugh,  but you see their initial reaction and embrace that smile/laugh that lights up the dark room you both are in as you cuddle under the sheets because you’re cherishing every second as if it was your last.
I mean, you never know when will be the last time you see this special person again so might as well embrace and love every second spent with them.  And this doesn’t only go for your significant other,  but also your family and close friends. Life is too short and we are born to die. Cherish the presence of those who make you smile and make you feel loved.
As for admiring someone’s presence as if you’re watching that person watch tv….well I’m guilty. I do this all the time with Jake and I dont care because he’s probably the best thing that has happened to me and I love everything about him,  even on his bad days.
On that note, hope you enjoyed your Sunday.
Love,
Dee

Until graduation!!!! I still cannot believe it. This has been a goal and dream of mine since I was younger.  And I’ll be the first to graduate from college in my family which means a lot. My family is super proud of everything I have accomplished thus far and I too am proud and thankful for this accomplishment. This is just the beginning to a new chapter in my life and i can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me!  I’ll make sure to post pictures from graduation,  etc.

Relieved

Alright, I am officially done with finals as an undergraduate student and it is the best feeling!!! This week has been so hectic for me, but it’s all done and over with. I can’t believe I am graduating from my university next Saturday.  Time is flying by and my dreams are slowly, but surely becoming reality! I wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for my amazing family and close friends. I’ve been surrounded with such great energy by family, best friends and boyfriend; I wouldn’t trade them for the world. I am super thankful for everything and everyone that has helped me along the way.
If any of you out there are taking finals or just stressing over something, look back and think of all the good things/people in your life. Some people may have it worst and sometimes we take things for granted. In life, we are usually tested and if it wasn’t a blessing then it was a lesson. Don’t let anyone rain on your parade, strive to be amazing and remember that you can’t live a positive life with a negative mind.
Next Saturday will be such a huge accomplishment… I’ll keep you posted! 🙂

Special

I don’t know what you do or what you say to make me feel so special.

Today was amazing.

I went to drop off my final this morning and after that I went on a peaceful nature walk with my Jake. It was just what I needed, especially this week because it’s been so stressful with finals, etc. I can’t wait to go back there and explore more trails.

The trail we walked today.

After that, we went to my place and as I was working on a final paper, he stayed with me until I finished and actually helped me stay on track. His presence being in the same room as mine was enough for me. After that we went for a Starbucks run to come back and just watch some T.V and just chill….It’s also so awesome how welcoming my family makes him feel. Everything has just fallen into place so greatly. I don’t know what I did to deserve this, but I don’t want this feeling to ever go away. I am so thankful for everything thus far.. and if you’re reading this JDC, just know that you mean the world and more to me. Finally found someone who understands my weirdness and can joke around with, but at the same time appreciates my love and corny words.  Don’t kill me for posting these silly pics of us on here, but I couldn’t help it. Days like these are the ones I cherish the most. xoxo

Because we’re goofballs and we love it.

Until the next post peeps. Hope you all had an amazing day & thanks for keeping up with Dee 😉
